Dealing With Sharps

  • People with diabetes need to dispose of sharps (needles and lancets) safely.

  • A strong plastic container with a childproof lid, such as a bleach (janola) bottle or used dishwasher powder bottle makes a good container.

  • Some medical centres, pharmacists, or diabetes centres will dispose of sharps as long as they are placed in safe container (as above)
