Dear Accu-Chek Reader
Who are the real experts when it comes to living with diabetes? People with diabetes of course, and this issue is packed with stories, hints, letters and funny tales from those experts.
Along with the very funny examples of what people go through to test their blood glucose, we've got a wonderful story about a young footballer (Frank is on the right, above) - all this and much more!
So save this email for when you've got a quiet few minutes, it's well worth the read.
On Frank Clarke's 10th birthday, he scored the goal that took his soccer team through to the finals of the Clendon Tournament and celebrated with a giant birthday cake.
Not so unusual for most 10 year olds, but Frank has Type 1 diabetes so the cake is out of the ordinary. And so is his exceptional football talent, which he hopes will take him all the way to Manchester United.
According to people who know, there's every chance he will do just that. He's also a neat young guy, and you can read his story here.
Congratulations to Amy Whetu and Aaron Nolan who each won a $100 petrol voucher for their wonderful stories about testing their blood glucose. You can read their stories in the next issue of the newsletter, out soon. We've got more petrol vouchers to win so send in your story.
Worried shoppers rushed out to move their cars when Auckland parking officer, Pradeep, stood by a meter to do his test.
You can read all about it, and other funny tales from our readers here.

Do you ever get that sinking feeling when your doctor sends you off for an HbA1c test? You know you've been doing all the right things, but still, there's a nagging doubt that the results will come back higher than you expect.
It doesn't seem fair. But there might be an interesting reason the results are high.
